UNDERSTUDYCONSULTING
U S Strategy. Clarity. Impact.

I build the systems your business runs on.

Hire me to automate the work that drains your week, repair the app that is already live, build the site or product itself, or train an operator agent that works inside boundaries you control.

Start with a $150 diagnosis You leave with a written plan, a real scope, and a fixed price. The fee comes off the work if we build together.
Four ways I help

Find the problem that sounds like yours.

Every engagement starts through the same $150 diagnosis. I inspect the real system, write down what I found, and price the next step before work begins.

01 / AGENT INSTALL

Automation that earns its place

“I am paying people, or paying myself in hours, to do things a computer should already be doing.”

  • A written map of recurring work and where automation is honest
  • One agent installed on the most expensive task first
  • Approval gates on anything that sends, posts, spends, or reaches a customer
  • An action log, spending cap, kill switch, and handoff
TimelineAbout 2–3 weeks after scopePrice shape$150 diagnosis, then fixed scope

02 / APP & SITE RESCUE

Fix what is already live

“People are using it, something is broken, and I need the real answer — not a rebuild pitch.”

  • I open the real app and inspect the real data before quoting
  • A plain-language finding, fixed price, and prioritized repair plan
  • The fix built on a preview or development copy
  • Nothing ships until you have watched it work
TimelineDiagnosis within 48 hours of accessTypical fix$800–1,500

03 / SITE & APP BUILD

The thing itself, with AI built in

“I want to talk to the person building it, own the result, and know the price before work starts.”

  • A written scope and fixed price before code begins
  • A production build in accounts and on a domain you own
  • AI grounded in your content, with server-side keys and evaluation
  • Payments, real phone-width checks, repo, and walkthrough
TimelineSmall-business builds about 2–3 weeksSmall-business build$1,500–2,500

04 / OPERATOR AGENT

A recurring role, without the blind trust

“I cannot do this every day, but I am not handing my business to a robot I cannot watch.”

  • One defined function trained on your voice, offers, prices, and rules
  • A separate checker that rejects weak work before it reaches you
  • Supervised operation first; authority grows only when you approve it
  • Ongoing tuning and support available and scoped after the build

Diagnose the role

The $150 front door

This is a working diagnosis, not a sales call. You leave with a written plan, a real scope, and a fixed price whether or not you hire me. If we build together, the full fee is credited to the work.

How it works

A small burden on you. A clear record from me.

The work begins with your actual business, not a generic discovery worksheet.

01 / DIAGNOSE

I inspect the real thing

You show me the system, workflow, or idea. I trace the problem and write down what is worth doing first.

02 / SCOPE

You approve the number

You receive the deliverables, timeline, ownership terms, and a fixed price. No step starts before you approve it.

03 / I DRIVE

One 20-minute call

I drive the setup. You only log in when I point at a screen. You review a working preview before anything ships.

Who you are actually hiring

One operator, from diagnosis through handoff.

I am Frank Epps. I design and build the work myself: the interface, the integrations, the safety boundaries, the deployment, and the documentation you keep afterward.

Robotics nowInternal Python tooling for inventory, scheduling, work management, and a field-data pipeline at a humanoid robotics startup.
Measured resultThat field-data automation reduced about a month of manual work to about a week.
Controls discipline10+ years as an instrumentation and controls technician — I program the systems and set up the equipment that runs them. It is the same work in a different medium.
Your ownershipThe code, accounts, domain, and operating knowledge are handed to you. I do not hold the build hostage.
Capabilities & work

A broad range, kept out of the booking path.

Across 26 working systems, I have built AI operations, products, knowledge tools, real-time data interfaces, business automation, and interactive worlds.

The complete capability menu, personal-build screenshots, and counted inventory now live on one focused page.

The systems I run on myself

The system I trust with my own work.

I run a governed autonomous agent system on my own business. The Orrery organizes work across three leadership lanes, the Armillary exposes evidence and approval points, and a read-only overseer performs weekly cross-domain synthesis. The Personal App Engine proves the same default-deny, sandboxed approach for building software. Human approval remains the release boundary.

The platform, command console, measured evidence, and application-building boundaries now have their own page.

Shipped outcomes

Problems traced through the real system.

Three examples of diagnosis, delivery, and production work.

Live app rescue

Compatibility logic rebuilt in about 48 hours

The reported failure looked like matching logic. The real cause lived in empty data. I diagnosed it, rebuilt the engine, verified it, and shipped it to production.

Local service operation

A site plus an AI operating partner

The build connected the customer-facing site to workflows for posting, booking, review requests, and rebooking — designed so the owner only logs in when pointed at a screen.

Subscription product

Product, billing, and access built end to end

A complete subscription SaaS with authentication, tiered payments, row-level security, serverless APIs, and AI-generated output.

Pricing ladder

One paid entry. Every later number approved first.

No hourly meter. No silent scope expansion. Larger products and operator agents are priced after the diagnosis because their scope genuinely varies.

StagePriceWhat it means
Diagnosis$150A written automation map, technical finding, or scoped build plan. Fully credited if we continue.
Live app or site rescue$800–1,500 typical fixFixed after the diagnosis. Rebuilds or migrations are quoted separately.
Small-business site + AI$1,500–2,500A production site and its scoped AI partner. Larger products are re-quoted in phases.
Operator agent buildScoped after diagnosisA recurring business function with approval gates, escalation, auditing, and supervised handoff.

Ongoing support

Tuning, safety monitoring, and reporting are available and scoped after the build. You keep the agent, code, accounts, and operating knowledge either way.

Straight answers

Before you spend anything.

The diagnosis exists to reduce uncertainty, including the possibility that the right answer is not to build.

What if the diagnosis says I do not need what I asked for?

I say so. You still keep the written finding and the practical next step. The $150 buys the answer, not a commitment to hire me.

Do I own the finished work?

Yes. The code, accounts, domain, and operating documentation are yours. You receive a walkthrough at handoff.

Is it safe to let an agent act for my business?

I use explicit permissions, approval gates, spending caps, a kill switch, an append-only action log, and a separate checker. I do not ship unattended money-spending autonomy.

Is ongoing support required?

No. Ongoing tuning, monitoring, and reporting are available and scoped after the build. You keep the agent, code, and accounts either way.

How much work will setup create for me?

The onboarding promise is one 20-minute call. I drive; you log in only when I point at a screen and review the working result before release.

Can you work with my current platform?

Often, yes. I have worked across custom code and no-code systems. The diagnosis determines whether a direct repair, integration, or migration is the honest path.

Put the problem into words.

Use the guided tool to organize what you need. Any estimate is a starting point; the paid diagnosis produces the fixed scope.
